FORMAL DEBATES

Los equipos debatientes escogen entre los temas debatidos a lo largo del año, los más relevantes o de actualidad.

En todos los debates se forman dos equipos:

En palabras simples, la casa afirmativa es la postura a favor de una moción y la casa negativa es la postura en contra de esa misma moción.

Moción: Una moción / tema / tesis / resolución es el asunto sobre el cual se discute en el debate, de manera que en todo debate habrá dos posturas: una a favor, y otra en contra o en duda.

EXCELSIOR DEBATES

En esta categoría participan los estudiantes que resultaron ganadores o tuvieron un desempeño sobresaliente en el FORMAL DEBATE y escogerán de dentro del cuerpo docente, los profesores a los que se enfrentarán en los temas a debatir planteados previamente por los mismos estudiantes.  

WATER-WAR DEBATES

It is a cathegory exclusively in English. In this cathegory, the competition does not include complexity in the topics chosen, since its nature focuses on the domain the candidate demonstrates of the formal language expressions typical of debating and his/her body language, framed inside a fun and entertaining environment that water provides, motivating students to participate more of these academic activity. 

The winner of the debate in this category will be named as a “Water-God”(dios del agua) and will be given to the candidate who not only arguments his topic properly, but mainly discover the body language and movements targeted by the “Water Judges” (Jueces de Agua) keeping the House (Affirmative or Negative) as dry as possible. In brief, it is all about discovering what to do, to avoid being splashed with water.

It is MANDATORY to bring in an additional set of clothes, towel and the uniform to continue the rest of the event appropriately. The contestant will not be able to participate if him or her do not show the additional set of clothes.
